The Lions Club of Karori is assisting with the establishment of a new Lions Club on the campus of Victoria University of Wellington.Information about Lions was available for students and others at a stand set up on Wednesday 1 March, at the "Clubs Day" organized by the Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association (VUWSA) and one week later, on 8 March, 11 prospective members attended an Information Meeting at which they were be able to learn more about Lions Clubs and a decision was made to work towards forming a Lions club on campus. The first proper meeting of the club was held on Tuesday, 14 March at 7.30p.m. in the Student Union Common Room
The Student Union venues are proving to be not too satisfactory - either not quite big enough or there has been uncertainty over the actual bookings, necessitating last-minute changes. From April 11 we shall be meeting in the UTDC Seminar Room (Room 201) at 10 Wai-Te-Ata Rd. This is reached down a path off the access road behind the Library Building. It will be signposted for the meetings.
NOTE!! Meetings are now being held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 6.30pm in Room 201 - The Seminar Room of UTDC (see access info above.).
